A colleague of mine who lives in Florida survived Hurricane Milton. Luckly, he and his family were able to evacuate before the Hurricane hit his area. His house was leveled, and they were left with only the items they could carry as they walked out the door. They were not able to return for weeks due to the damage. My colleagues and I tried to reach out to see if they were safe and needed anything. But there was total silence for days due to the intermittent Electricity, Cell Service, and Internet.
He did not have a “Digital Go-Bag” but as a seasoned business traveler he had some resources in his computer bag to get back online. He was able to grab some of his legal documents in the rush out the door. But he realized there were documents he could not get, and many were neither digitized nor safely stored.
